2018 FIFA WORLD CUP RUSSIA
The FIFA World CupTM is one of the most grandiose sporting events in the world, the festival that millions of fans all across the globe are anticipating with bated breath!
The first World Cup was held in 1930. Having started as a tournament with 13 participants, it is now a major football contest with around 200 countries competing to get to the finals. 16 countries on different continents used to host the World Cup games.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup™ will be the 21st mundial held from June 14 to July 15, 2018 in 11 Russian cities on 12 stadiums. This will be the first FIFA World Cup in Russia! We hope it will help us demonstrate our broad soul and kind heart, Russian hospitality, and share Russian traditions and culture with the whole world.
Stadiums in 11 host cities (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Sochi, Kazan, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Saransk) are expected to welcome over 3 million supporters.
32 world’s strongest teams will compete in 64 matches to determine the champion. TV audience for the tournament is estimated to exceed half of the global population.
The final draw is scheduled on December 1, 2017.
